FAMILY LAW ATTORNEY
Young Berman Karpf & Karpf, P.A., an AV-Rated boutique law firm with a premier family law practice, is seeking an experienced Family Law Attorney with approximately 6–8+ years of family law experience to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience handling family law matters, including complex and high-asset cases, and will be comfortable both working collaboratively with partners and independently managing cases from inception through resolution. Strong litigation, writing, negotiation, and client-management skills are important for this position.
The firm has offices in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and Boca Raton, and a hybrid/remote arrangement may be considered for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Handle and assist with complex family law matters, including divorce, equitable distribution, timesharing and parental responsibility, alimony, children’s issues, prenuptial/postnuptial agreements, and post-judgment proceedings.
- Manage cases through all stages of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediation, settlement negotiations, hearings, and trial.
- Work on high-asset matters involving business interests, executive compensation, investments, trusts, real estate, and other complex financial issues.
- Develop case strategy in collaboration with partners, clients, and other members of the legal team.
- Work with forensic accountants, business valuation professionals, financial experts, mental health professionals, and other experts as appropriate.
- Drafting of marital agreements.
- Maintain strong client relationships and provide practical, strategic advice throughout the representation.
- Handle sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism and discretion.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
- Licensed to practice law in Florida and in good standing.
- Approximately 6–8+ years of family law experience.
- Experience handling complex and/or high-asset family law matters.
- Meaningful litigation experience, including hearings, depositions, mediation, and trial preparation.
- Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage cases independently while working collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Book of business or an existing referral network is welcomed and compensated accordingly but not required.
